Formation and Early Years

E.A. Poe originated from Ornago, near Milan, Italy. The band formed in 1967 under the name Angelo e gli Spacemen. The original lineup included members who were only 11-12 years old. After the departure of leader Angelo in 1969, the remaining members opted for the name E.A. Poe in 1970. They began their journey by performing covers of popular bands such as Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad, and Deep Purple. As they transitioned into original compositions, they developed a local following through live performances.

Recording and Release

Their album "Generazioni (Storia di Sempre)" was recorded in just three days during September 1974. This project was released by the Milan-based Kansas label. The vinyl's matrix is dated January 1975, which indicates a pressing date shortly after the recording. Initially, only 500 copies were produced, making the album relatively scarce. It wasn't until a reissue in 1991 that it became more accessible to a wider audience.

Musical Style and Composition

The album features a blend of rock and progressive rock elements typical of the Italian scene during the 1970s. Classically influenced keyboard work is prominent throughout the tracks, alongside intricate guitar playing. The rhythm section comprises Marco Maggi on bass and Lello Foti on drums, providing a solid foundation for the band’s sound.
