The recording took place under the engineering skills of Paul Tregurtha, with mastering by Arun Chakraverty.

Musical Composition

The band comprises six members, each contributing to the album's rich sound. Roy Webber handles lead vocals and acoustic guitar, while Pete Cosker plays both electric and acoustic guitar and provides vocals. Paul Gerrett adds depth with grand piano, Fender Rhodes, harpsichord, harmonium, Mellotron, and vocals. The strings are enhanced with Pete Sage's electric violin and mandolin, complemented by Paul Middleton's steel guitar. Roger Narraway rounds out the rhythm section with drums and percussion.

The album features a mix of short songs and longer compositions. Side A includes tracks like "The Martyr," "I Just Wanna Be A Cowboy," and "What To Do." Side B is anchored by the extensive suite "To The Urban Man," which stretches for 13 minutes, along with "Your Own Way," arranged by Wakeman and Harris.
