Recording Details

The album was produced by Yuya Uchida and Ikuzo Orita. The studio tracks were recorded at Mouri Studio in Tokyo, while the live tracks were captured during a performance at Yokosuka Bunka Kaikan on September 16, 1972. This blend of studio and live recordings provides a dynamic listening experience.

Band Lineup

The core lineup of Flower Travellin' Band includes Joe Yamanaka on lead vocals and percussion, Hideki Ishima on electric and acoustic guitars, Jun Kozuki on bass and acoustic guitar, and Joji "George" Wada on drums. The band expanded their sound with the addition of keyboardist Nobuyuki Shinohara, who plays Hammond organ, piano, and electric piano.

Musical Content

Sides A and B feature hard rock and heavy psychedelic compositions. Tracks include "All The Days," the title track "Make Up," and "Shadows Of Lost Days." Sides C and D present live performances, highlighted by the 25-minute rendition of "Hiroshima." Other live tracks include "Blue Suede Shoes," with guest lead vocals by producer Yuya Uchida, and "Satori Pt. 2."

Make Up marks the last major release by Flower Travellin' Band before their disbandment in April 1973. The album reflects the band’s evolution and experimentation within the rock genre during their active years.
