Introduction to Sky Racer

Streetmark, a German rock band, released their fourth studio album titled Sky Racer in 1981. This album came out on Sky Records with the catalog number sky 050. It was recorded at Dierks Studios in Stommeln during July and August of 1980. The album marks a transition in the band's sound, moving from their earlier symphonic progressive rock style to a more concise early-1980s blend of new wave, synth-pop, and melodic pop-rock.

Band Members and Production

The lineup for Sky Racer featured Dorothea Raukes on keyboards and lead vocals, who was the last original member of the group. Dickie Hank, also known as Hans-Georg Hank, played electric guitar and contributed to the composition of the track "Streaming." Bassist Stephan Jehring added backing vocals and composed two tracks: "Stick To Reggae" and the title track "Sky Racer." Drummer Bogdan Skowronek rounded out the band. The album was produced by Bernd Schreiber, with recording engineering handled by Jürgen Krämer.
