Recording Locations

The album features tracks recorded at two venues in the UK. "The Return of the Giant Hogweed" was captured at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester on February 24, 1973. Other tracks, including "Watcher of the Skies," "Get 'Em Out by Friday," "The Musical Box," and "The Knife," were recorded the following night at De Montfort Hall in Leicester. These performances reflect the band's dynamic stage presence and intricate musical compositions.

Production Details

Genesis Live was produced by the band itself alongside John Burns, who contributed to the engineering of the album. Mastering was handled by George "Porky" Peckham, a respected figure in the vinyl production scene. The live photography featured on the album cover was done by Bob Gruen, a photographer known for his work in the music industry.

Band Lineup

The lineup on this recording includes Peter Gabriel on lead vocals, flute, and tambourine. Tony Banks played the organ, Mellotron, and piano, while also providing backing vocals.
