Elastic Rock Band is a German jazz-rock and fusion group that released its sole studio album, Faruk's Traum, in 1979. The album was recorded at Sunrise Studios in Kirchberg, Switzerland, under the guidance of Swiss sound engineer Etienne Conod, and released by the Schneeball collective label.

The core quartet of Elastic Rock Band features key musicians who contribute to its distinctive sound. Keyboardist Alex Grünwald plays a variety of instruments, including Fender Rhodes and Minimoog. He later became a founding member of the pop-rock group Münchener Freiheit. Guitarist Wolfgang Fahr and bassist Matthias Krüger further enrich the band's sound, while drummer Jan Zelinka brings his experience from bands like Missus Beastly and Guru Guru. Additionally, Polish jazz virtuoso Leszek Zadlo adds depth with his saxophone performances, both on soprano and tenor.

Faruk's Traum is characterized by a blend of breezy Rhodes chords, fiery electric guitar solos, and agile saxophone runs. This album consists of seven tracks that navigate various musical landscapes, including the title track, which spans nine minutes, and interludes that offer brief, reflective moments within the album's flow.
