Time, a Yugoslav band formed in late 1971, released their self-titled debut album in 1972 under the Jugoton label. The album features a blend of jazz-rock, blues rock, and progressive rock. The band's formation included prominent musicians, with Dado Topić, formerly of Korni Grupa, taking the lead as vocalist and guitarist.

Musical Composition

The album was recorded in Zagreb and produced by Vladimir Mihaljek. It showcases a variety of styles across its tracks. The first side opens with "Istina Mašina," a hard rock track that sets an intense tone. Following this is "Pjesma No. 3," a ballad that provides a contrast in mood. The experimentation continues with "Hegedupa Upa," which incorporates acoustic elements alongside Mellotron and Moog synthesizer sounds, illustrating the band's willingness to explore diverse musical avenues.

On the second side, "Kralj Alkohol" presents a bluesy vibe, exhibiting the band's roots in blues rock. The album culminates with "Za Koji Život Treba Da Se Rodim," a ten-minute epic featuring impressive guitar solos from Vedran Božić and the rich textures of Tihomir Asanović's Hammond organ. The lineup on this album includes Dado Topić on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Vedran Božić on guitar and vocals, Tihomir "Pop" Asanović on Hammond organ, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Mario Mavrin played bass, while Ratko Divjak handled drums and congas. Dabi Lukač contributed Moog synthesizer and Mellotron on one track. The cover design was also done by Topić, showcasing the band's artistic vision.
