Psychedelic and Underground Music is a distinctive album from the Psycheground Group, released in 1971 under the Italian library music label Lupus. This album represents the sole release by the Psycheground Group, which served as a pseudonym for the Genoa-based progressive rock band Nuova Idea. Due to contractual obligations, Nuova Idea could not release music under their own name, leading to the creation of this project.

Musicians Behind the Project

The lineup of the Psycheground Group consists of members of Nuova Idea: Enrico Casagni on bass, flute, and vocals; Claudio Ghiglino on guitar and vocals; Paolo Siani on drums and vocals; Giorgio Usai on keyboards and vocals; and Marco Zoccheddu on guitar and vocals. The album’s music was crafted by brothers Gian Piero and Gian Franco Reverberi, along with library music composers Sandro Brugnolini, Massimo Catalano, and Stefano Torossi. The recording took place at Reverberi's studio, ensuring a polished production quality.
