A Traves De La Ventana
Aditus, a progressive rock and jazz-fusion band from Caracas, Venezuela, formed in 1973. They released their debut studio album, A Traves De La Ventana ("Through The Window"), in 1977. The album was privately recorded and self-released on their own label, Aditus, marking their entry into the music scene.
The album was recorded and engineered by Daniel Grau, a notable figure in the Venezuelan electronic and cosmic music sphere. His expertise contributed to the unique sound of the album, blending elements of jazz, rock, and Latin influences. Aditus consisted of four talented members: George Henríquez on acoustic piano, Fender Rhodes, Hammond organ, Minimoog, and lead vocals; Álvaro Falcón on electric and 12-string acoustic guitars; Sandro Liberatoscioli on bass; and Valerio González on drums, Moog drum, and percussion.
A Traves De La Ventana is characterized by its intricate fusion of Latin jazz-rock and symphonic progressive rock. The sound draws parallels to bands like Return to Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Focus. This album diverges significantly from the commercial pop-rock direction the band would later adopt in the 1980s. It features complex arrangements and a wide range of musical styles, highlighting the musicians' versatility and technical skill.
The album consists of eight tracks that explore various musical themes and moods. Songs such as "Un Dia Como Hoy" and "Solenoide" exemplify the band's intricate compositions and adept musicianship. The interplay between the instruments creates a rich tapestry of sound, making each track a unique listening experience.
A Traves De La Ventana was released on vinyl as an LP album, with the catalog number LP-001. The self-released nature of this record reflects the independent spirit of Aditus during this early phase of their career. The album's production values and musical content remain a testament to their artistic vision in a time when they were still establishing their identity.
A Traves De La Ventana was recorded in Caracas, Venezuela, and features a total of eight tracks, showcasing the band's diverse musical influences.
