The recording took place in July 1975 at the band's rural commune in Wintrup, utilizing Conny Plank's mobile recording truck. The album was mixed at Conny's Studio in Neunkirchen-Wolperath.

The band now included Hellmut Hattler on bass guitar and vocals, Peter Wolbrandt on electric and acoustic guitars and vocals, Jan Fride Wolbrandt on drums, and Johannes "Alto" Pappert on alto saxophone. Bischof's contributions with the Fender Rhodes electric piano, acoustic piano, and Minimoog synthesizers introduced new harmonic dimensions to the band's sound.
