Origins of Fleur De Lis

Fleur De Lis originated in the spring of 1970 in Skive, Jutland, Denmark. This rock group embraced both psychedelic and progressive elements in their music. The lineup featured Leif Nielsen on vocals, guitar, and clavinet, Bjarne Pedersen on guitar, Peder Pedersen on bass, Svend Thomsen on organ, and drummers Kai Olesen and Per Schou. Their singular vision culminated in the release of their only full-length album, Facing Morning, in 1971.

Recording Details

The album was recorded at Quali-Sound studio in Nibe, Northern Jutland. Palle Juul served as the studio producer. During its initial pressing, only 153 copies were manufactured, making the album a rare find for collectors. The recording captures a blend of fuzzy electric guitar riffs, clavinet, and prominent organ lines that define the band's sound.
