All Will Be Changed
Frumpy is a German band that emerged in the late 1960s, characterized by a unique sound that blends rock and blues elements. Their debut album, All Will Be Changed, was released in August 1970 under the Philips label. The album features a distinct lineup, including Inga Rumpf on vocals and percussion, Jean-Jacques Kravetz on keyboards and saxophone, Karl-Heinz Schott on bass, and Carsten Bohn on drums.
All Will Be Changed was recorded in a period when many bands were experimenting with musical forms and sounds. Frumpy, however, stood out with their guitar-less configuration, relying heavily on Rumpf's powerful vocals and Kravetz's diverse keyboard work. The album combines a variety of influences, creating a sound that is both unique and engaging.
The album opens with "Life Without Pain," a track that sets the tone for the rest of the album with its rhythmic beats and soulful melodies. Another highlight is "Rosalie," which is divided into two parts and showcases the band's ability to blend lyrical storytelling with intricate musical arrangements. The track "Otium" adds a different flavor, featuring Kravetz's skillful organ playing, while "Indian Rope Man" offers a catchy yet contemplative vibe. The second side of the album includes "Floating," which is divided into two segments, providing a deeper exploration of the band’s musical style.
The album was produced by Rainer Goltermann, with engineering contributions from Gerard J. Beckers and H.G. Dozel. The original gatefold sleeve design featured a pull-out mechanism, which created a visual effect of a chameleon's tongue extending from the cover. This innovative design element added a tactile experience to the vinyl release, inviting listeners to engage with the physical medium.
All Will Be Changed is catalog number 6305 067 and was released on vinyl LP format.
