Zomby Woof is a symphonic progressive rock band formed in Reutlingen, Germany in 1971. The group's name is inspired by Frank Zappa's track "Zomby Woof" from the album Over-Nite Sensation. In 1977, they released their only studio album, Riding On A Tear, under the Jupiter Records label. The album demonstrates the band’s ambition to create a unique sound within the progressive rock genre.

Recording and Production

Riding On A Tear was recorded at Tonstudio Hiltpoltstein in Germany. The album was produced by Steve Kazan, with engineering contributions from Bruno Gebhard. This collaboration resulted in a rich sonic landscape characterized by intricate keyboard arrangements and dynamic vocal harmonies.

Musical Composition

The album features a total of nine tracks, blending various elements of rock, art rock, and symphonic rock. The sound is marked by the use of a Mellotron, synthesizers, and dual lead vocals.
